# Introduction

## Problem

Public Interest Technology (PIT) is a rapidly growing field that lacks a concerted online community platform for students and professionals of various competencies to actively and collaboratively engage with one another. Moreover, the broader social impact ecosystem is incredibly difficult for those not already deeply embedded within the space to get assimilated in, navigate through, and succeed entrepreneurially. Having the ability to apply one’s own knowledge and skill sets in unique, creative, and deeply personal ways through entrepreneurial endeavors is a key pillar for any industry to continually attract ambitious and inspired rising talent. It is our duty to foster this community of dedicated problem solvers through an accessible and inclusive community platform that accelerates social impact innovation and develops a robust pipeline into the PIT field.

## Solution

Bloomn is a permissionless social impact startup and community accelerator platform. Bloomn implements an original innovation challenge funding model that incentivizes the generation of novel ideas through competition, the evolution of the most promising ideas / teams through crowdsourced collaboration, and allows all participants to leverage the available challenge funding through evolving bottom-up market dynamics, instead of rationing the funds through early top-down cut-off decisions that hinder progress. Our funding model is nested within a holistic, human-centered social impact startup and community accelerator, streamlining communication and feedback dissemination between problem solvers, stakeholders, mentors, and funders. Our accelerator will be offered on a scalable and permissionless web and mobile application platform, allowing interested entrepreneurs and problem solvers all across the world to be included, dramatically decreasing the traditional geographical, financial, and personal network barriers of entrepreneurship and venture funding. Finally, to strengthen the PIT community and produce more value for all stakeholders involved, the platform will partner with established organizations to offer a diverse educational experience, develop a robust career pipeline for those who want to continue to serve in the space, and foster shareable digital identities that can be used and leveraged for future academic, career, and entrepreneurial ventures.

echo 'You got to trust me on this, I saved the world'
```
{% endcode %}
## **First Competition**
The first competition will be in the Summer of 2021, with ***Education, Equality, and Economic Opportunity*** as the challenge topics tackled. The target audience is high school students, college students, early professionals, and those with an entrepreneurial spirit at large. However, all who want to start an organization in response to the challenge topics, or who want to help catalyze these early initiatives into sustainable organizations, can join the first competition and compete for their share of the prize pool. Education, equality, and economic opportunity were chosen to be the challenge topics because we want to ensure the challenges we present are personal and relevant to our competitors, harnessing their motivation, inspiration, and determination to create a more just and equitable future.
